What is the One By One Campaign for Children?
One by One is a community service programme by Amway affiliates worldwide to benefit children. Why children? Because Amway believes in their unlimited potential and that potential should be nurtured

One by One in Malaysia
Amway Malaysia has had a rich history of giving back to society. Some of our past projects include pioneering the Tunas Harapan homes for underprivileged children, the Thanks Mum and Dad! Elderly Care Programme and more recently the Tunas Budi Homes for the elderly in Kuala Selangor.

The company recognised the need to be more focussed to make our contribution to society more meaningful. That was how One By One came about. It is a long-term corporate social responsibility commitment by Amway Malaysia, its Distributors and employees to reach out and support one unified cause -- children in need, one by one.

Amway Malaysia's One by One Campaign was officially launched on 3rd February 2005 by YB Dato' S Veerasingam, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.

Promoting Positive Mental Health in Children
Amway Malaysia's One By One Campaign is focussed on promoting positive mental health in children.

Why? It was discovered that 1 in every 5 children has a tendency for low mood, emotional and behavioural problems and we want to help address this.

Our approach is two-pronged, direct and indirect:

  • Directly affecting children through One By One workshops themed Happy Healthy Minds
  • Indirectly reaching out to parents who act as catalysts in shaping the lives of their children through Parenting Seminars
  • Indirectly reaching to the general public via Media Education Programmes to educate the public on issues surrounding children's mental health

One By One Half Day Children's Camp

Amway (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. organises One By One Half-Day Children's Camps and workshops in line with the company's commitment to promote positive mental health in children.

    Camp's objectives

  • Encouraging children to make new friends, learning how to work as a team and to communicate with their parents.
  • Fostering child-parent communication.
  • Empowering parents with skills to promote positive mental health in children.

    Camp Activities

The camp involved three main activities:
  • Team activities fostering interaction and teamwork amongst children.

    Happy Healthy Wards Project

A physical extension of the on-going camps, workshops and seminars, the Happy Healthy Wards project aims to create a more conducive and cheerful environment for recovering children at government hospitals. Amway Malaysia has allocated RM300,000 to refurbish facilities at paediatric wards in six government hospitals over a three year period beginning Fiscal Year 2006.

On 16 June 2006, Amway Malaysia handed over the first refurbished Paediatric Day Care Centre and new children's playroom to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang (HTAR).

On 4 January 2007, Amway handed over the second refurbished Paediatric Day Care Centre and children's playroom to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Temerloh (HoSHAS).

On 3 September 2007, Amway Malaysia handed over the third refurbished Paediatric Day Care Centre and children's playroom as well as a newly-built extension to the Day Care Centre which accommodates a doctor's consultation room, dining area and waiting area, to Hospital Batu Pahat, Johor.

On 13 March 2008, Amway Malaysia handed over the fourth refurbished facilities which include the paediatric clinic's waiting area, treatment room and five doctor's consultation rooms to Hospital Ipoh.
