NUTRILITE Health Carnival Attracts More Than 6,000 People

Kuala Lumpur, 29 July 2004 - Nutrilite™, the world’s leading brand of vitamins, minerals and food supplements, recently celebrated its 70th Anniversary by holding its first ever health carnival at Dataran Merdeka. The carnival was attended by more than 6,000 people from all walks of life.

The carnival began with a dawn jog led by Dr. Sam Rehnborg, President of the Nutrilite™ Health Institute, which is based in California in the United States. An avid marathon runner, Dr. Rehnborg, 68, led 4,500 registered joggers, some of whom were at the flag-off before 6:00a.m., on a five-kilometre route along Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Jalan Mahameru and Jalan Parlimen. Energetic teenagers sped away to the head of the field while others enjoyed walking in the company of their friends and the cool morning air. Parents with children in tow lent a family atmosphere to the jog. Some parents were also seen leisurely pushing their tiny tots in baby prams along the route. Participants, including children, who completed the five-kilometre jog, were awarded a certificate by Dr. Rehnborg.

Following the jog was a hive of activities that included mass aerobics, line dancing and field activities such as carnival-style games, tele-matches, face painting and balloon-sculpting clowns that kept the young and old entertained. Squeals of delight were also heard from children playing in the inflatable “Merlin Castle” and “Fancy Bouncer”. There was also a children’s colouring competition themed “Live Life to the Fullest!” which attracted some 130 children aged between four to ten. Free-flow of refreshing “Nutrilite™ Active 8” drinks were available throughout the morning for all present.

Dr. Rehnborg shared: “Nutrilite™ has always emphasized the importance of optimal health as it is fundamental to a full and productive life. Optimal health is a balanced strategy that includes regular physical exercise, balanced nutrition, adequate rest and a positive mental outlook on life.”
